What we collect

Nothing about you leaves your phone. Spendtrail does not require an account, an email address, or a password. Your expenses, categories, notes, receipts, and budgets are stored locally on your device.

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or third-party trackers.

Exchange-rate lookups

When you use multi-currency features, the app requests reference exchange rates. Only currency codes (for example, "USD" or "EUR") are sent to fetch those rates. Your transaction amounts, merchants, and notes are never transmitted.

Receipts and OCR

Receipt scanning and text recognition run on-device using Apple frameworks. Receipt images are processed locally and are not uploaded to any server.

Ask, the on-device assistant

Ask answers questions about your spending using Apple's on-device foundation model. Your question, the figures it is answered from, and the answer itself are processed entirely on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to Zestworks or to any other server, and nothing is used to train any model.

The assistant reads your transactions, categories, and budgets from the app's local database in order to answer. It has no other source of information, and it cannot reach the internet.

Your conversation is held in memory only. It is discarded when you clear it or leave the screen, and it is never written to disk.

Your data, your control

You can export your data to CSV at any time, and import it back. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device.
